If you’re like most of us at Engagement Trends, your to-do list is beyond overwhelming. You might feel like it’s almost impossible to keep on top of everything, whether you have to manage your staff, keep up to date with your inbox, answer to clients’ emails, review articles and what not.

Of course, there are always some ways to improve processes and make our life at work easier.
To help you finish 2017 right and start 2018 with the efficiency that you need, we’ve put together a list of must-have digital tools that will simplify and enhance your work life.

From OneTab to LastPass and Canva, let our favourites be yours! We found that these free tools and Google Chrome extensions make life just a whole lot easier. Here are 5 tools professionals can’t live without.

OneTab — De-clutter your browser and increase the speed of your computer.

OneTab quickly compresses all of your open tabs into a single tab page with links to all of the Web pages you had open, allowing you to flush all of the tabs from your browser, while still allowing you to go back to them for easy reference right after. You can then restore tabs one at a time or all at once. You can also easily export your tabs into a list of URLs or a web page for easy sharing. We love using it when we have to group different sources for the same project or to create article reading lists.

AdBlock Plus — Simply makes your life (and browsing experience) better.

AdBlock Plus is one of the most popular adblockers online. It features a quick setup, loading preset filter lists that allow you to quickly block most ads, as well as the option to filter malware and social media buttons. Savvy users can choose additional block lists, as well as set custom filters or whitelists. AdBlock Plus allows what it calls “non-intrusive advertising” through filters, which may irk some users, though this can be disabled in settings. Ciao irritating ads and pop-ups!

LastPass — Use this on all your devices (tablet, phone and desktop). By far the best password manager we’ve found.

LastPass is an online password manager and Form Filler designed to reduce the headache of managing multiple user accounts and passwords, making your browsing experience easier and more secure. Best of all, cross-platform and device syncing is available for free to all users, making LastPass even more of a great deal.

Grammarly — Double Check Every Word You Write.

Perfect for professional writers or fast but inaccurate typers. Grammarly makes you a better writer by finding and correcting up to ten times more mistakes than the good old word processor. (Who uses Word nowadays?). Just copy, paste, and fix your errors. This is an absolute favourite for our content writers and social media specialists. It’s great because it does much more than just correcting your spelling and grammar mistakes. Adding Grammarly to Chrome means that your spelling and grammar will be vetted on Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Tumblr, and nearly everywhere else you write on the web.

Canva — An Editorial Team’s Best Friend: Easily design beautiful, professional graphics.

Canva is great to design all types of things from resumes to posters, business cards, flyers, and many other documents. This tool will definitely save you a lot of time. We also love the flexibility it offers. It makes it fun to work with. Really easy to use for somebody that’s green in design.
